Folio Privacy Policy

Folio is a minimal document scanner. Your privacy matters to us, so this policy is short and honest.

Last updated: 8 July 2026

The short version

Folio does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. There is no account and no server — everything you scan stays on your iPhone.

What Folio stores

Scanned pages, extracted text, folders, and settings are saved only on your device, in the app’s private storage. We have no analytics and never see any of it.

Camera & text recognition

The camera is used to scan documents you choose to capture. Text recognition runs entirely on your deviceusing Apple’s Vision framework — nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Face ID

If you enable the optional app lock, Folio asks iOS to confirm it’s you with Face ID or your passcode. This happens entirely on-device.

Children

Folio is a general-audience app and does not knowingly collect data from children.
