Grain Privacy Policy
Grain is a camera app. Your photos are yours, so this policy is short and honest.

The short version
Grain has no accounts and no ads. Every photo you take and every edit you make happens entirely on your device — nothing is ever uploaded to us.
Camera
Grain asks for camera permission so it can show you the viewfinder and take photos. The live film looks are rendered on your device in real time. The camera is only active while you are in the app’s camera screen, and no frames are recorded or transmitted except the photos you deliberately capture.
Your photos & edits
Photos you capture, their untouched originals, your edits, masks, and rolls are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage. We have no account system and no server, and we never see, upload, or sell your images.
Photo library access
If you choose to save a photo to your library or import one to edit, iOS asks for photo library permission. Grain uses that access only for the photos you pick or save — it does not read through your library in the background.
Subject masking
Masks that detect skies, people, or backgrounds use Apple’s Vision framework, which runs entirely on your device. No image data is sent anywhere for this analysis.
No ads, no tracking
Grain contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics. We do not build a profile of you, and we never sell data — because we never receive any.
Children
Grain is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
